Del Rio, set on the edge of the Mexican border, is likely to be hot and dry, and this it is, although not necessarily desert dry. Even in the heat of summer, cloud cover can provide relief, and for a more recreational relief, Lake Amistad is nearby. The winters, also, are very moderate, with temperatures that resemble those of spring in the north.
