Sprawling urban center with a culture all its own, Mexico City might be a crowded metropolis but spend enough time here and you'll find historic sites, cultural offerings and lively local markets.
Pine and Oak woodlands with views of Mt. San Jacinto and Mt. San Gorgonio. There are wildflowers in April through the summer. Remains of an old gold mine from the 1880s can be seen on the trail. Conditions are very hot and dry in the summer so lots of water must be carried. WATER IN THE CREEK IS NOT DRINKABLE. Hats and boots are a MUST. A car shuttle is suggested for pickup at the trail’s end. This trail gets a lot of use by mountain bikers. Please remember to use caution and keep speed down. Please use trail etiquette – horses have the right of way.

Basic Directions
To reach the upper end, take Sunrise Highway from I-8 (near Pine Valley) and drive north 13.5 miles to just past the second cattle guard on the highway. Vehicles should park on either side of the highway in the paved turnouts. The trail departs the western turnout and is marked by a small sign. The lower end of the trail is reached by driving 1.2 miles north of Pine Valley on Olde Highway 80, then 1.6 miles north on Pine Creek Road.
