Tijuana's convenient location just across the Mexican border for traffic bound south from San Diego means that this hustling city sees a steady stream of day-trippers over to peruse markets and party.
This section of the PCT extends from the Indian Flats Road (9S05) north to a pass on the Pacific Crest Trail about 1 mile south of Combs Peak.

Basic Directions
From the Los Angeles Basin, drive south on I-15 to Highway 79 South (Temecula). Follow Hwy 79 approx. 25 miles east, southeast through Oak Grove to the junction with the Chihuahua Valley Road. Follow the Chihuahua Valley Road east, approx. 6 miles, to a point where the paved road makes a 90 degree turn to the right. A dirt road continues on east at this point. Follow this road approx. 4 miles. The PCT crosses the road in a saddle located approx. 1 mile SSE of Combs Peak. Trailhead parking is along the road. From San Diego, follow I-15 north to Temecula and use the preceeding instructions to reach the trail.
The southern end of this segment is located along the Indian Flats Road north of Warner Springs. Please see the description for the Agua Caliente Section of the PCT for access instructions.
