Reynosa, a border town, is a destination most popular with day trippers or travelers in transit to other parts of Mexico. With a rapidly growing economic infrastructure based on industry, this city is one of the fastest growing in Central America. While factory tours may not be the real appeal of Reynosa, day trippers down from Texas can enjoy chips and salsa along with their souvenirs before heading back to the US.
Visitors with more time for Mexico can head east to the Gulf of Mexico or southwest to big city Monterrey.
Reynosa is 136 miles from Monterrey and 60 miles east of Matamoros.
