Description
To reach the developed trailhead, go west on Clinton Keith Road from I-15. Turn north (right) to Tenaja Road, then right on Rancho California Road (FS 7S01) for .8 miles to Tenaja Trailhead. Restrooms and water are available. The trail heads north, ending at Four Corners (north end exit via Bear Canyon Loop Trail to Ortega Highway).
Day hikers will enjoy the 3.5 mile southern route to Fisherman's Camp. From the trailhead, Tenaja Trail is broad and gentle dropping quickly into cool oak and sycamore, a multitude of wildflowers in springtime, tumbles of granite boulders, and a panoramic view of San Mateo Canyon. Because there is such an abundance of shade, this trail is an excellent summer hike. However, don't miss it in full bloom in spring! Abundance of poison oak year round.
